Comfort Zone
21 is as fun as it is popular. Although jackets are required for men, there's no reason to fear a stuffy atmosphere, because 21's is anything but. Please read on if you'd like to find out more about the treasure that is 21.

    Reservations
Reservations are strongly recommended for this popular venue, although the restaurant will certainly make an effort to accommodate walk-ins. It's strongly recommended to make your reservations as far in advance as possible.

Seating
Seating is quite comfortable at 21. From banquettes to upholstered chairs to cozy lounge chairs, there's no doubt that you'll find something comfortable enough for you. Table spacing is quite gracious, too, so it’s a win all around. Tables in the bar room are delightfully decorated with red-checkered table clothes featuring grapes and leaves. They're paired with a red leather banquette that crawls around the circumference of the restaurant's various rooms, in which the names of celebrity guests mark their favorite table.

Atmosphere
From clubby to sophisticated, the atmosphere at 21 includes something for everyone. Downstairs in the bar room or the cocktail lounge, for instance, a clubby and cozy atmosphere dominates. Upstairs at 21, meanwhile, is features a more muted and more elegant feeling. For the private dining rooms, it's your choice, as private dining themes include nautical, floral, Western and Bavarian. You can even immerse yourself completely in Prohibition-era New York inside the wine cellar. You name it, you have it all here. Tables are generously spaced throughout and vary in size, but all are comfy thanks to chairs that are about 17 inches, providing plenty of room to maneuver. No matter the occasion, you can find a perfect venue at 21!

Restrooms
The restrooms at 21 are inside the restaurant and on the first floor. There is an attendant in both the men's room and in the lady's room; in the men's room, in fact, there is "The Reverend," who has been an attendant at 21 for over 30 years. Everyone loves him and we're sure you will, too! By the way, there are restrooms and a coat check on each of the four floors at 21, not to mention an elevator that will take you between floors if you prefer not to take the stairs.

*Please note that the restaurants featured at TravelsinTaste.com may have changed their personnel, menu, pricing, decor, hours of operation, etc., since our last visit. The competitive and creative nature of the fine dining scene virtually assures that changes will occur on a frequent basis in order to make diners happier, meals more pleasurable and visits more frequent.
