FIRST Food & Bar's 10,000 square feet is hip and edgy, yet still a casual enough place for a great business lunch or an early breakfast. Its moods change throughout the day and into the evening -- and we mean really late evening! If you'd care to learn a little more about how to navigate the restaurant in order to maximize your FIRST experience, please read on.
FIRST does take reservations, but it accommodates walk-ins also; it’s best to use your discretion. It’s definitely busy during prime dining times and after hours, but they are very accommodating.
Tables for four are generously proportioned at 36 inches square. And at 18 inches in diameter, so are the chairs. Booth seating is even more generous, as tables are 68 by 36 inches. All tables are generously spaced so that you have sufficient privacy for that business breakfast or lunch, or in case you don't want to be involved in your neighbor's conversation. Seating is as varied as the knickknacks throughout the restaurant, as there is comfortable booth-type seating, both rectilinear and semicircular, a chef's table with slightly higher but nonetheless comfortable chairs, Eames-type chairs and modern armless chairs. Each seating option is accompanied by a different atmosphere; whether you crave private dining, love watching the kitchen, enjoy feeling like you're in a homey diner or simply want to gaze out at the spectacular Strip, it’s all here for you.
Don't be fooled. Although it serves breakfast, FIRST is the most popular late-night spot in Vegas! From the wee hours of the morning until the wee hours of the evening, FIRST is the first thing on hungry tourists’ and locals’ minds! It's the neighborhood bar, but it’s still sophisticated enough for your folks. It's not exclusionary or over the top, but rather hip, comfortable, stylish and modern. It’s like your favorite diner combined with your favorite watering hole. Although the Strip is teeming with tourists, FIRST is nonetheless a neighborhood hangout. Everyone might not know your name, like they do at that 1980's icon Cheers, but at the end of the evening you can bet you'll have made some friends and had a great meal to boot. Speaking of friends, Rafael and Mike, two of the managers, are more than helpful and can assist your needs. And our servers, Sandy and Elizabeth, were extremely helpful in navigating the menu. During the day, the restaurant is filled with tourists, conventioneers and locals alike; after hours, however, it is truly an "industry" hangout. This is definitely not the place for a quiet meal, as the atmosphere is fun and the noise level is high to match.
The restrooms are located across the hall from the restaurant with same-level access; they're extremely generous in size.
