Upon entering LAVO through the glass doors emblazoned with its name, you’ll realize you’re in a place like no other. Twenty-foot ceilings and diaphanous draperies mark your entrance, as does the bar/lounge area, a portion of which has a tiled wall surrounded by a comfortable couch that’s decorated with a framed tiled sign describing the services offered and their price, such as the Roman Holiday for 300,000 Lira or the Dead Sea Salt Scrub for 500 Shekels. Obviously, this is just for show (or is it?). The partial wall hides the stairs to the nightclub, which is described in more detail below. If you instead choose to look directly in front of you, you’ll see the floor-to-ceiling windows that accentuate the outdoor terrace.

LAVO’s Moroccan bathhouse theme is apparent throughout the restaurant, from the many sculptures and items invoking water and bathing to the many Turkish urns and tubs that line the bridge to the nightclub. Decorative themes prevalent throughout the restaurant include tile and bronze for materials, earth tones and jewel tones for colors, and unique lighting fixtures for visual interest. Speaking of visual interest: There’s even a copper bathtub on a pedestal on your way into the restaurant! Attention is paid to every detail. Chocolate hues from the wooden tables and leather sofas emote warmth, for instance, while the decorative lights provide golden and amber hues.
