Situated beside such high-end retailers as Christian Louboutin and Thomas Pin, and located just steps from Emeril Lagasse's Table 10, lies a gem of a discovery -- Double Helix Bar and Double Helix Boutique. The concept is great because in the middle of a long day of power shopping, or even at the end of one, you can stop by the bar at Double Helix and grab one of about 50 wines by the glass, served inside a cozy and unexpected shopping mall refuge. Indeed, within this circular mahogany and glass enclave, you're completely separated from the bustling shoppers outside. It’s a real challenge making a wine bar in a high-end shopping mall so inviting and cozy, but owner and sommelier Ray Nisi makes it work. Of course, if you don't want to escape the shopping, but rather do more of it, you can stop by the retail store and grab a special bottle of wine to take home -- or to have uncorked on the spot by one of the friendly bartenders. While you're there, you can try a smidgeon or sampling of the boutique wines. If you're hungry, you can even get some nibbles provided by none other than Emeril himself. Now you know why within two weeks of opening, three other properties outside of Las Vegas asked Nisi to open additional Double Helix outposts. If that's not a compliment, what is?
