The Oasis Group, which owns and operates a variety of ethnic restaurants in New York City -- including Casa la Femme, an Egyptian restaurant; the Tapas Lounge, a Spanish concept; and Eros, which serves Greek food -- is responsible for Hacienda de Argentina, a little jewel on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. While it's a true beef lover's paradise, don't let the name fool you: Due to current USDA regulations, Hacienda de Argentina doesn't serve Argentine beef at all, but rather Uruguayan and American USDA prime beef. The beef, however, is the only thing that is not Argentine about this lovely Hacienda, which offers many other beef-less options, including chicken, whole fish, pasta and vegetables, all of which are equally delicious. Still, the beef is the star of the show at this authentic Argentine hacienda. It's served by the ounce -- minimum ounces apply -- and every ounce is worth every penny. In addition to various types of meat, there are multiple appetizing options, such as a chorizo sampler, an empanada sampler and even a mixed grill option that allows you to try many flavors at a potentially lower price point. You can't go wrong, though, with either the Uruguayan or American beef; we've stuck with the Uruguayan during our visits and we weren't at all disappointed.
