    Lighting/Attention to Detail

Every nuance at Tocqueville has been carefully planned by the people who know it best: Jo-Ann and Marco. The husband-and-wife team designed the original Tocqueville and have improved upon it with the new Tocqueville. The lighting is subdued, yet just enough to provide the right spotlight on your meal. Seating is arranged so that no one is on top of the guest next to them. The private dining room has a view of the main dining, but obviously is far enough away from it so that those seated there do not hear the noise from the diners below. Finally, the bar area is simply sublime. Every detail has been attended to and symbolically endorsed by the restaurant's many repeat guests.

Cuisine

Chef Marco’s use of the Union Square Green Market, in addition to his classically trained roots -- combined with his stints at Bouley Bakery, The Mark and Giraffe -- provide Tocqueville's guests with an exquisite dining experience that's not to be forgotten anytime soon. Meals begin with complimentary gougeres -- that's French for cheese puffs -- and continue with your appetizers and meals. Each is plated in a beautiful fashion -- picture perfect, you might say -- and is just as delicious.
