Comfort Zone
Crustacean is an exquisite Asian fusion restaurant where "The Mother of Fusion" presides over the kitchen. The 240-seat restaurant is one that's worth exploring in more detail before you actually arrive. If you'd like to know a little bit more about it, therefore, before you make your reservation, please read on.

    Reservations
Reservations are strongly recommended, even for lunch. They can be obtained by calling the restaurant directly at (310) 205-8990. Reservations should be made at least a week in advance for dinner to ensure that you'll have the lovely dining experience that you desire. As with any tasteful dining establishment, it's suggested that you make reservations as early in advance as possible in order to secure a table at your desired time.

Seating
There's plenty of room not only to try several of Chef An's unique creations, but also to share them comfortably with your dining companion. Tables are close, but not uncomfortably so. Gently curved upholstered teak chairs provide a completely relaxed dining experience. Seats in the bar area are upholstered stools with no backs, if you'd prefer that style.

Atmosphere
At Crustacean, you'll feel like you've been transported to a stylish palace in Vietnam, although with a distinctly modern elegance. From the waterfall windows and the piano in the bar to the striking flowers and the two-story main dining room, the restaurant's d├ęcor is truly awesome. So is the food, of course. It's the star of the show, after all, and the servers know and acknowledge that. Service is lovely and the staff caters to your every need, explaining the menu and discussing the restaurants history and its secret kitchen (although they can't get you a pass inside it). One server in particular, Brian, was quite lovely; ask for him if you can, as his enthusiasm was contagious! This is not the place for a quiet romantic dinner, but it's certainly the place for great food, great fun and a unique dining experience that you won't soon forget. It's worth it alone just for a taste of the garlic noodles.

Restrooms
The restrooms are on the same level as the restaurant, at the end of the bar; they are completely accessible.

Dress Code
The dress code is business casual. Athletic wear, sneakers, shorts and flip-flops are not appropriate attire. Jeans are acceptable as long as they are paired with a nice shirt and shoes.

Parking
The restaurant is easily accessible by cab and valet parking is available for a $7 flat fee. If you so choose, you can attempt to find parking on your own, although it is not recommended.

Awards
Crustacean was named one of Esquire Magazine's 10 best restaurants in 1997 and in 1998 was named 'Best New French Colonial Outpost" by Buzz Restaurant Awards. Crustacean and its unique Secret Kitchen have also been praised by many prestigious media properties, including: USA Today, InStyle, E!, Style Channel, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, French newspaper Le Figaro, Wine Spectator, Food and Wine, Gourmet and Bon Appetit. It's known to be a frequent celebrity haunt in the heart of Beverly Hills.

*Please note that the restaurants featured at TravelsinTaste.com may have changed their personnel, menu, pricing, decor, hours of operation, etc., since our last visit. The competitive and creative nature of the fine dining scene virtually assures that changes will occur on a frequent basis in order to make diners happier, meals more pleasurable and visits more frequent. Given their frequent fluctuations, most restaurants welcome inquiries about their current hours, menu and more.
