On Friday, January 22nd, celebrated soul food chef Charles Gabriel and restaurateur Ken Aretsky debut Fried Chicken Fridays at Aretsky’s Patroon, located in midtown.

Introduced years ago by mutual friends, Aretsky is a long-time fan of Gabriel and his food. He appreciates the chef’s cuisine for its universal appeal and lack of pretense-qualities he’s always valued throughout his career as a restaurateur.

Every Friday from 5pm-11pm, Gabriel will serve his superb soul food in Patroon’s handsome Gibson Room located on the second floor.

Guests can enjoy Gabriel’s special $25 dinner menu that includes three pieces of fried chicken, cornbread, a choice of two southern-style sides (black-eyed peas, collard greens, potato salad, candied yams, mac & cheese and okra, tomatoes & corn) and banana pudding for dessert.

Patroon’s a la carte bar menu from executive chef Bill Peet is also available. The live musical stylings of honky tonk piano player Benjamin Healy accompany the Southern feast.
