Acclaimed Restaurant Transforms into More Accessible Dining Destination With Sharable Small Plates and Less Formal, More Social Atmosphere

Embracing an exciting new direction that better resonates with L.A.’s relaxed, communal dining scene and the Southern California lifestyle, Gordon Ramsay at The London West Hollywood has unveiled a menu exclusively focused on sharable small plates.

The menu, created by Chef Anthony Keene, remains dedicated to contemporary Western European cuisine with subtle Asian influences, reinterpreting the award-winning recipes of Gordon Ramsay with the same commitment to quality and presentation.  Complementing its more accessible à la carte menu will be a less formal approach to service, redesigned uniforms and a more upbeat social atmosphere.

“We are excited to unveil this new concept for Gordon Ramsay at The London West Hollywood, which moves the restaurant away from heavier prix-fixe menus and toward the small plate style of dining that has become the new norm in Los Angeles,” explained General Manager Edward Costa.  “We remain committed to the excellent standards of Gordon Ramsay and imaginative dishes that use only the freshest seasonal ingredients sourced from the region.”

Among the new menu’s starters ($9-15) are warm radicchio salad w/candied pecans, bleu cheese and apples; beets, avocado toast, lettuce and “Green Dirt Farms” sheep’s milk cheese w/walnut dressing; ricotta cheese gnocchi w/truffle and green cabbage sauce; risotto, butternut squash w/mushrooms; and steak tartare w/steak fries and fresh horseradish.

Seafood small plates ($11-23) include California halibut w/Spanish chorizo, gigante beans and jalapeño; Pacific cod w/miso custard and salt & vinegar spiced peanuts; snapper w/kaffir lime, curry shrimp broth and jasmine rice; Nantucket scallops w/cauliflower, caper raisin and curried granola; West Coast oysters w/sesame tempura, compressed cucumber and cilantro; dungeness crab salad w/sour orange, jicama, harissa and chive cream; steamed mussels w/white wine and garlic, and surf & turf featuring monkfish, oxtail ravioli and lobster bisque.

Meat-based small plates ($14-24) include braised pork belly w/scallop, curried noodles and clams; prime “rib cap steak” w/pommes frites and béarnaise; and roasted lamb w/merguez sausage and lentils.

For heartier appetites, large plates ($24-45) offer such selections as prime New York steak, marrow crusted; baked organic chicken w/preserved lemon; and Liberty Farms duck w/duck meatballs and star anise; as well as dishes for two ($80-89) such as butter poached lobster w/sweet corn; and the restaurant’s signature “Gordon Ramsay’s” Beef Wellington.

A redesigned bar menu ($11-18) makes the culinary creativity of Gordon Ramsay even more accessible to those stopping by for an after-work drink or just to socialize.  Items include char-grilled burger w/Grafton cheddar and red onion jam; pork belly sliders w/quail egg; crispy chicken dumplings w/hoisin, pickled cucumbers and sriracha; steak tartare w/steak fries and fresh horseradish; fish & chips w/tartar sauce and English pea puree; and steamed mussels and frites.  Along with a selection of pizzettes ($12-15), including margherita w/mozzarella, tomato and basil; and manila clams w/garlic, bacon and pecorino, the bar menu also offers sushi ($12-18) such as crispy rock shrimp tempura w/sweet chili; spicy tuna roll w/cucumber; and shrimp tempura roll w/pickled ginger. A charcuterie platter for two ($21) features cured meats w/mustard and grilled bread.
