At the Polo Lounge, Executive Chef Alex Chen provides a menu that marries California cuisine with French accents. Below is a sampling of the dinner menu. Please note that a split portion requires an additional $2.50. Signature favorites include the Tortilla Soup and the McCarthy Salad, a version of the Cobb that was created here with bibb lettuce, chicken, beets, chopped egg, bacon bits and cheddar cheese - all presented and mixed tableside - topped with balsamic vinaigrette. In addition to Chef Chen's fresh produce and seasonal fresh foods, the Polo Lounge offers diners delicious breads and pastries, as it has a French baker on site. Soups & Salads: Summer Vegetable Minestrone (pesto crostini, Polo Lounge garden herbs, $11); Chilled Vine Ripened Tomato Gazpacho (lobster medallions, marinated vegetables, $14); Polo Lounge Soup of the Day (made daily with the freshest ingredients on the market, $11); Santa Monica Farmers' Market Salad (baby lettuce, crispy vegetable chips, grapefruit "brulee," blood-orange vinaigrette, $15); Arugula & Artichoke Salad (young arugula, tiny Ventura artichokes, two-olive vinaigrette, balsamic emulsion, $17); Tuna Niscoise Salad (seared rare ahi, fingerling potato, egg, haricots verts, roasted peppers, caper berries, olives, tomatoes, banyuls port vinaigrette, $20).
