You're in good hands at Okada. Executive Chef Masa Ishizawa joined the restaurant for its April 2005 opening originally as Executive Sous Chef, but when Takashi Yagihashi left to open a noodle shop at Macy's in the Midwest, Chef Ishizawa stepped into his shoes and never looked back. He learned classic Japanese techniques in some of the country's most noted kitchens, including the Kyoto Hotel, while his mentors in the United States included such luminaries as Nobu Matsuhisa and Julian Serrano. His mastery of classic Japanese cuisine will amaze you. The menu itself is as comprehensive as it is creative and the service is superb. For example, if you order the Kobe Beef, they will bring it out and show it to you before they prepare it, just so you can attest to its freshness. Not many restaurants will go out of their way in that manner for their guests. Chef Ishizawa just wants to please your palate, and please he does with his luminary creations.
