Meal
Credited with, but refusing to take credit for, the creation of Creme Brulee, Sirio Maccioni is a legendary restaurateur. He, his wife Egidiana, a legendary cook in her own right, and sons Mario, Marco and Mauro preside over the nightly culinary scene at Le Cirque where New York society has dined since 1974. Executive Chef Christophe Bellanca now presides over the kitchen. Chef Bellanca hails previously from L'Orangerie in Los Angeles and prior to that Pic, a two-star Michelin restaurant in Valence, France. Le Cirque provides a variety of dining options, one for every taste – you may dine on the full menu, a tasting menu, or go to the cafe and try the bar menu. Note that after your meal you'll be given petit fours, and most likely you'll get one of those great chocolates with Le Cirque stamped on it in gold! Appetizers: Le Cirque Salad (mixed lettuces with tomato, carrot, avocado, asparagus, haricots verts, and a poached quail egg, $18); Tuna Roll (sashimi and tartare with mango, galangal, cucumber yuzu granite, $26); Lobster Salad "Le Cirque" (with potatoes, asparagus, tomato and avocado, black truffle vinaigrette, $45); Crispy Zucchini Flowers ("Roma style" with spicy pepper sauce, $21); Foie Gras (terrine with prosciutto, fig marmalade, fennel confit, celery leaf salad, $41); Langoustine (Asian mixed vegetables, coconut lemon grass jus, $37); Frog's Legs (with pea emulsion, prosciutto, giroles, $25); Spaghetti alla Chitarra (with seafood $16/$28, with cherry tomato, $14/22).

Main Courses: Lobster (poached in vanilla cognac, celeriac puree, swiss chard, fava beans, $49); Turbot (contise with chorizo, tomato consomme with coriander, red and yellow pepper arlequin, and summer vegetables, $49); Roasted Cod (clams gratinee, mariniere in herb butter, shellfish jus, $41); Paupiette of Black Sea Bass (wrapped in crispy potatoes on a bed of braised leeks Rocca di Frassinello wine sauce, $45); Whole Roasted Chicken for two (with morel mushrooms and asparagus, $40 per person); Duck (zucchini with nepitella, plums poached in moscato, wild asparagus, $44); Prime Strip Steak (pommes Macaire, short rib marmalade, morel mushrooms, $56); Lamb (gremolata crust, pecorino ravioli, tomato confit, mint jus braised, crispy flank, $48).
