Comfort Zone

Wing Lei is a fine dining restaurant serving authentic Chinese cuisine. If you'd like a little bit more information in order to maximize your dining experience -- with tidbits like how to dress and where the best tables are -- please read on.

Reservations
Reservations are strongly recommended and can be made by phoning the restaurant directly.

Seating
Seating at Wing Lei is sumptuous. In fact, once you sink in you probably won't want to get out. Seats in the main dining area are plush, over 19 inches wide at their widest point and upholstered in silvery-beige fabric with polka dots; the backs and arms feature red accents that cover a portion of the dark frames. The chairs also have a rounded back and are actually cushioned twice for additional comfort. Variations of these chairs are found in the Dragon Rooms and in the private dining room. There are also throne-like banquettes strategically placed throughout the restaurant, in addition to low-backed barstools that have cylindrical upholstery over the back for additional comfort and ergonomic support.

Atmosphere

Tables for four are 41 inches square and are generously spaced throughout the restaurant. Light music plays throughout the evening, so you needn't worry about your neighbor overhearing your conversation. There are many lovely tables to choose from, but we suggest table No. 18, or Nos. 28 and 38 if you can't get 18, which is a table overlooking the garden. An added benefit of all three tables: They end with an "8" -- a lucky number in Chinese culture -- so you might want to try your luck in the casinos after your meal, in case some of that luck rubs off on you. If you prefer privacy, try to book one of the Dragon Rooms. The entire restaurant offers a more refined experience than your typical Asian restaurant, as evidenced by the servers, who wear white gloves during service. If you want an authentic meal -- including live fish, if you want something really authentic -- in an authentic setting, then Wing Lei most certainly is your place.

Restrooms

The restrooms have same level access and are located within the restaurant.

Dress Code
The dress code is casual elegant.

Parking
Complimentary valet parking is available at the hotel, as are multiple cabs. However, if you're ending your meal at the same time as one of the shows that's playing at the Wynn, such as Le Reve, you might want to allow extra time to get your car or a taxi.

Awards

Wing Lei received one Michelin Star in the first edition of the Las Vegas Michelin Guide, published in 2008; it was the only Chinese restaurant in North America to receive this distinction. The restaurant also received the AAA Four Diamond Award in 2008 and 2007. Finally, Wing Lei received the "Best Chinese Restaurant in Las Vegas" Epicurean Award from Las Vegas Life magazine in 2007.

*Please note that the restaurants featured at TravelsinTaste.com may have changed their personnel, menu, pricing, decor, hours of operation, etc., since our last visit. The competitive and creative nature of the fine dining scene virtually assures that changes will occur on a frequent basis in order to make diners happier, meals more pleasurable and visits more frequent. Given their frequent fluctuations, most restaurants welcome inquiries about their current hours, menu and more.
