Comfort Zone
Before you visit La Marea and enjoy the vast views of the Atlantic from this elegant beachside restaurant, you might want to know a little more about the particulars. If so, please read on.

    Reservations
Reservations are strongly recommended for lunch and dinner and can be made by calling the restaurant directly or on opentable.com.

Seating
Tables are approximately 38 inches square and very roomy. The seats are also comfortable and are approximately 22 inches in diameter at their largest. There is plenty of room to maneuver between tables, so if you need to get up to use the restroom or to take a quiet phone call outside, you are by no means cramped. There are about 152 seats outside and 58 seats inside for a total of about 210.

Atmosphere
While music from ceiling-mounted Bose speakers plays throughout the dining times, it's never too loud or obtrusive. Also, even though the restaurant is located directly off the hotel lobby it quietly maintains the feeling of an elegant beach oasis and you never feel as if you are in the middle of Grand Central Terminal, even when the hotel lobby is abuzz with people.

Restrooms
The restrooms are located slightly outside the restaurant and around the corner - out of the way of the lobby and also the restaurant. They are quite convenient.

Dress Code
The stated dress code is casual although the dress code is slightly more casual at lunch than dinner. This is a fine dining restaurant, therefore shorts or flip flops are not appropriate, but we are told nice jeans are acceptable.

Parking
There is valet parking at the hotel. Taxis are also available, yet due to its prime location on Ocean Drive you might only be steps away from where you need to be.

Awards
We haven't seen any awards yet, but as the soft opening was in May and the grand opening in September, there are certainly aware on the horizon for La Marea at The Tides South Beach.

*Please note that the restaurants featured at TravelsinTaste.com may have changed their personnel, menu, pricing, decor, hours of operation, etc., since our last visit. The competitive and creative nature of the fine dining scene virtually assures that changes will occur on a frequent basis in order to make diners happier, meals more pleasurable and visits more frequent. Given their frequent fluctuations, most restaurants welcome inquiries about their current hours, menu and more.
