There are two ways of entering DiLido, through the pool area or from the beach. Whether or not you come by the pool, be sure to catch a glimpse of its unique view - since it truly is the only pool on South Beach where you can swim or lounged in the sun while enjoying a clear, unobstructed view of the ocean. While you're there you might even catch sight of the only known tanning butler in the world who, clad in designer swimwear, pampers sunbathers on the pool deck from 11am to 3pm, Friday through Sunday. If you happen to be lounging by the pool before going off to lunch or dinner he might offer to protect those hard to reach places with a generous touch of sunscreen or he might offer a refreshing spritz of Evian to cool you off.

Even if you don't have a chance to see the tanning butler, there is always plenty more to see by the pool. There are two alcoves with king"size VIP beds set behind retractable drapes and roman blinds. The large pillows on the beds make these VIP touches look very inviting, particularly when you learn that daytime guests to these beds are treated to lunch and spa treatments. The VIP day beds cost, $200 per day. If you're not up for one of the VIP beds, but would still like a bit of something extra, there are 10 double chaise lounges with overhead canopies, pillows and retractable blankets that go for, $50 per day. Around the pool deck you'll find 150 oversized lounge chairs arranged in a layout that continues to echo the luxury liner theme. If you're there during the weekend, and find yourself feeling parched by the sun or the warm ocean breezes, just flag down the roving martini, bloody Mary and mimosa cart and you'll be fine. If you make it to pool side on a Saturday afternoon, you may be in time to watch five modern mermaids perform their synchronized swimming routine. Their Esther Williams"style performance begins at 4pm.
