Fort Lauderdale Fine Dining
It used to be rare to find "South Florida" and "fine cuisine" in the same sentence. Now, however, they're a natural pairing, as South Florida has become one of the world's most esteemed culinary destinations. It's even developed its own cuisine, unmistakably termed "Floribbean." A combination of Floridian ingredients with Caribbean influences, this cuisine is most known for its use of high-quality, fresh produce, as well as unique tropical foods. So when you're strolling Las Olas Boulevard, perusing Fort Lauderdale's finest shops and galleries, stop in at one of the boulevard's fine dining restaurants and try a bite -- or, book a ticket for the Las Olas Wine and Food Festival, where you'll not only sample the cuisine from those Las Olas chefs, but also from other notable area chefs whose restaurants now populate the city, from the beach to the outskirts of town. Indeed, Fort Lauderdale is known not only for its legendary sand, surf and 3,000 hours of reputed annual sunshine; these days it's also famous for its food.
