Located in the lounge of Restaurant Guy Savoy is a beautiful long fireplace that's set back within the wall. Above and toward the end of the crackling fire within a glass box is a white bear's head that decorates the wall. Why the glass box, you might ask? Look a little closer at this white bear and you'll see that the head is made entirely of matches! The head was created by David Mach, who is known for his matchstick sculptures and for sometimes setting them on fire as part of his "performance art." While this bear's head is not set on fire, it is ironically placed strategically above the fire. It's an interesting juxtaposition, for sure.

Restaurant Guy Savoy is a culinary Mecca where every dish is prepared with the utmost care and served seamlessly in an elegant preparation. More than elegant, though, food here is also colorful, providing a feast for the eyes as well as for the mouth. Take for example the divine trio of amuse bouches—who else provides you with three tastes?—which is awash in bright colors and served on delicate spoons that are perfectly placed on a textured glass plate. Then there are the green, white and yellow hues that offset the black pearls of caviar in the "Colors of Caviar" dish. Finally, consider the beautifully coordinated pairing of plates with creations and the sunset-hued grapefruit terrine. Meals at Restaurant Guy Savoy are awash in spectacular colors, delicate presentations and, of course, some of the best flavors you'll ever experience.
