The building that's home to davidburke townhouse on East 61st Street is a beautiful brick townhouse with white paned windows that are covered by a series of awnings. The awning over the main entrance clearly denotes Davidburke & Donatella and stretches over a red carpet that leads to the front door. You can't beat that for feeling special. Manicured greenery adorns each side of the door and the end of the awning. To the left of the front door is a white frame with a flat screen television. It was previously a window, but was replaced with the TV in order to flash to hungry patrons pictures of the menus and subsequent dishes. To the right of the door is a long framed window looking over a window table into the bar.

Inside, the bar and dining rooms are whimsically designed with fanciful ornaments. Artwork includes framed lithographs featuring patterned eggs with feet and beaks, among other inventive designs. These are lithographs from "The Key to the Kingdom," a card deck designed by Tony Meeuwissen. If you're really into the art, or into impressing your friends, you might want to check out the deck and see how many images you can recognize. The seven of spades is actually the egg with the beak and legs just mentioned. To the rear in the main dining room is a red Chihuly sculpture that resembles long stalagmites in a cutout within the wall over a mantle. Meanwhile, to the right of the dining room as you enter is a spot lit area with multicolor and multilevel glass blown balloons. Because they are spot lit from the bottom, they project exciting colors onto the ceiling.
