Comfort Zone
The Restaurant at the Setai is a very versatile restaurant that happens to be very Zen-like in both motif and in ambience. For more information on navigating this Zen-inspired dining experience, and for making it even more calming, please read on for some valuable tips.

    Reservations
Reservations are strongly recommended.

Seating
Seating is comfortable, and also well spaced. The restaurant's curvilinear seats are about 22 inches in diameter at their widest, and pillows provide extra support for your lower back. Because seating is far enough away from other diners, there shouldn't be a problem with privacy. Just in case, though, private dining is available for guests who truly want a totally private experience. You don't need private dining, however, to enjoy the Zen-like nature of the Setai, as the noise level does not get far above that of the light music that's playing in the background.

Atmosphere
At The Restaurant, your every need is catered to; servers are just fantastic about helping guests navigate the menu and answering questions about the restaurant. Plates are cleared and placed almost simultaneously, a good indication of the seamless service. While the restaurant is mood lit, for that Zen effect, you should have no difficulty reading the menu. The light background music that is piped into the restaurant is the same as in the bar area, but by no means as loud. It's subdued, and a lot of it happens to be played from a series of tracks called Buddha Bar; it's soft, mellow and adds just the right amount of Asian atmosphere.

Restrooms
Restrooms, which can accommodate several guests, are located outside of the restaurant in the lobby. Go down the hall and to the left, past the mother of pearl-inlaid bar; the restrooms, the lobby and The Restaurant are all on one level, so all are wheelchair accessible. An interesting feature within the restrooms is the colorful abstract projection on the sinks.

Dress Code
The dress code is business casual.

Parking
Valet parking is available at the Setai for a price; during the day it is $24 and overnight it is $34. If you are having dinner at the hotel and get your ticket validated for lunch or dinner, the parking is $13. There is a public lot close to the restaurant at 21st Street and Collins Avenue, although it's not your nicest option. The valet is more than happy to call a cab for you if you’d like. As of our last visit, there was a construction site across from the Setai; walking, if you're alone, is therefore not your best choice, as the hotel is located on the border between South Beach's safe tourist strip and its quieter local district.

The competitive and creative nature of the fine dining scene virtually assures that changes will occur on a frequent basis in order to make diners happier, meals more pleasurable and visits more frequent. Given their frequent fluctuations, most restaurants welcome inquiries about their current hours, menu and more.
