An Asian paradise in the midst of the ever chaotic South Beach, the Setai provides offers a tranquil, serene environment in what is typically considered a fast and forward scene. Situated at the northern end of Collins Avenue, this piece of Asian paradise is also a hotel that's noted for its pampering personality, as evidenced by the many amenities it provides, including three pools - each individually heated - a spa and gourmet restaurants, among many other luxurious essentials. Just walk by the hotel's many reflecting pools, quiet reflective areas and mythical Asian statues, which stand regally on pedestals throughout, and already you'll be overcome with a Zen-like feeling - not exactly what you'd expect from the typical South Beach experience. Before you take that afternoon off to relax, however, whether it's to get pampered at the spa, to sit by one of the hotel's pools or to lie on the beach, you should try lunch at The Restaurant. Newly helmed by Executive Chef Jonathan Wright, the restaurant serves Asian - inspired cuisine along with wine pairings that are sure to provide you with a very relaxing afternoon. Whether you prefer watching the demonstration kitchen or relaxing at a secluded table enjoying the conversation of your company, The Restaurant offers an exceptional afternoon experience. After lunch you can wander through the sculpture gardens on your way to the beach, where the tables adorned with 100 percent pure Florida oranges will serve as a bright reminder of your geography; if you walk through at sunset or later, you'll note that the oranges have been replaced with candles to create a more romantic, relaxing evening environment.
