If you've never been to Le Cirque, the thought of dining at such a New York landmark might prove intimidating. Below we provide you with the tips to break the ice and simply sit back and enjoy the circus refined.

    
    Reservations
Reservations for lunch are strongly recommended, for dinner they are required. For prime evening dining times and days its best to call a few weeks in advance.

Seating
The combination of large square tables (measuring about 30 inches square) and roomy, armless chairs that are almost the width of the table makes for very elegant, comfortable seating. The tables are spaced throughout the room so that there is plenty of room to navigate.

Atmosphere
While the noise level is noticeable, it's not bothersome, and quite in line with the circus feel. The glowing chandelier creates a beautiful sunset feel, and, in combination with the willowing drapes, adds to the elegance to the main dining room. Le Cirque is no ordinary circus, but rather a whimsical romantic restaurant. Service is seamless and exceptional. On one visit we had a cappuccino go cold and it was immediately replaced with a new one at no charge.

Restrooms
There are restrooms on the first floor, a few steps from the main dining room – completely accessible. Interestingly enough restrooms are adorned with mother of pearl and onyx check board inlayed floors, flowers, a circular lit mirror and even decorative birdcages!

   
     
    
Dress Code
Jackets are required for gentlemen in the dining room. They are strongly suggested for dining in the café.

Parking
Le Cirque is near the east side subways, easily accessible by taxi, and there is street and garage parking nearby.

Awards
Sirio Maccioni has won multiple awards as has Le Cirque. In particular it's won the Wine Spectator's Grand Award every year it's been in operation since 1986.
