Sushi Bar
To the right as you enter the restaurant you'll immediately note the oversized, maple sake casks that mark the entrance to the sushi bar. These casks are actually held by interwoven bamboo slats, another indication of the meticulous attention to Japanese design that went into every detail of the restaurant. The sushi bar seats about 14 guests and lets you watch the sushi chefs as they create their sushi masterpieces. Dressed in white coats and red chef's hats they work with consummate precision to prepare each sushi dish to perfection. You'll also notice that unlike your ordinary rectilinear bar, the sushi bar in Okada is curvilinear, for a nice architectural twist. There's also a circular drop ceiling above the bar. The chairs in the sushi bar are made of light wood with comfortable, normal back support, not the short backs that you get at some sushi bars. It's safe to say that you'll be very comfortable while watching your sushi being prepared under the multiple spot lights.
