Comfort Zone
The Beach Bar at the Setai is an upscale beach restaurant, not your typical beer and fries shack. In order to maximize your dining pleasure when relaxing at the Beach Bar, read these quick and easy tips:

    Reservations
Reservations are recommended, but you don't necessarily need one.

Seating
Because the tables are 38 inches square and the seats about 22 inches at their widest, you will have no problem getting comfortable. There's plenty of room between tables, too, to maneuver your way for a quick view of the kitchen or a lingering view of the ocean.

Atmosphere
Menus are encased in plastic, so you needn't worry about getting yours wet. Same goes for the wine glasses. Music plays - it's primarily salsa - from what we are told is a CD of 2,000 songs that plays continuously throughout the day. Service is lovely and very attentive.

Restrooms
The restrooms are at the end of the pool, so they are close enough that there should be no problem if one needs to freshen up.

Dress Code
The dress code is casual, though cover-ups are needed.

Parking
Valet parking is available for $24. There is also parking on the street and a municipal lot very close to the hotel. If you don't have a car, the valet at the front of the hotel will call a cab for you. Most likely, you'll either be staying here or you'll have walked up from the beach, so parking may not be an issue.

Awards
The Setai has received the following honors: Gallivanter's Guide 2007 Award for Excellence for the "Best Resort in North America," a spot on Conde Nast Traveler's 2007 Gold List; ranking in Forbes Magazine's "Best New Hotels" list in 2006, a spot on Food & Wine's guide to the "Best New Wine Lists" in 2006, a ranking among Trip Advisor's "Hippest Hotels of the World" in 2006, Wine Spectator's 2006 "The Best Award of Excellence," a spot on Esquire Magazine's list of "Best New Restaurants" in 2005.

*Please note that the restaurants featured at TravelsinTaste.com may have changed their personnel, menu, pricing, decor, hours of operation, etc., since our last visit. The competitive and creative nature of the fine dining scene virtually assures that changes will occur on a frequent basis in order to make diners happier, meals more pleasurable and visits more frequent. Given their frequent fluctuations, most restaurants welcome inquiries about their current hours, menu and more.
