Our editors have scoured America's kitchens, markets and menus in search of the most up-to-date, unusual items for your reading -- and dining – pleasure, then published them in a convenient, easy-to-chew list format. 3. Rouge Tomate
10 E 60th St
New York, NY
(646) 237-8977
Lunch: 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. (Mon – Sat)
Dinner: 5:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (Mon – Sat)

This Michelin starred restaurant in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, launched their new summer cocktails on Tuesday, July 6th. The mixologists created three healthy, yet flavorful concoctions: The Climate Change, The Rose Sangria, and the Green Mary. Our favorite? The Rose Sangria, which features a rose wine infused with strawberries, cherries and pink peppercorn. Combined with watermelon juice, orange juice, agave, club soda and chopped fresh red berries, it’s certainly the ultimate summer cocktail.

2. AZURE
The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino
3325 Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas, NV
11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Fri – Sun)

The Palazzo Las Vegas brings the opulence of the French Riviera to the Las Vegas Strip with AZURE. Embodying sophistication at its finest, AZURE is for the guest who enjoys the finer things in life. And this summer, the cocktails at AZURE are just as exclusive as the appetizing fare of celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. The mixologists at AZURE created the Strawberry Smash Cocktail for their summer menu and have been kind enough to share the recipe with us.

Strawberry Smash
1 ½ oz. Bombay Sapphire
2 Fresh Strawberries
¼ oz. Agave Nectar
2 oz Sweet n’ Sour
Top with Soda Water

Muddle the strawberries, agave nectar and sweet n’ sour directly in the serving glass. Add the Gin and the ice and top with the soda water. Mix gently with a bar spoon in order to blend the ingredients and to move the strawberry pulp around in the glass. Garnish with a fresh strawberry.

Additionally, The Palazzo's Fusion and Laguna Champagne Bar are each introducing new cocktails this summer. Fusion is introducing the Pisco Tango which is made with mango infused Barsol Pisco Quebranta and fresh lime juice, rock candy syrup and Funkin mango puree while Laguna Champagne Bar is introducing the Art "Nuvo" which includes Hanger One Vodka, strawberry puree, lemon juice, Nuvo French Liqueur, and Moët Impérial.

1. Mercat a la Planxa
638 S. Michigan Ave.
Chicago, IL
(312) 765-0524
7 a.m. – 2 a.m. (Daily)

In addition to the restaurant’s signature sangrias, beverage director Kate Clas has added seasonal margaritas, mojitos and other specialty drinks to the summer menu at Mercat a la Planxa. Some of the drinks even feature herbs grown in Clas’ personal garden.

Drinks include the Finca—a blueberry, pear and caraway infused vodka martini topped with a meringue float and A la Planxa—a mojito made with grilled pineapple infused rum, cilantro, mint, lime, fresh sour and soda. The margaritas and mojitos surpass the norm with ingredients like avocado puree and rum infused with grilled pineapple.

The current specialty sangria is a blend of Stoli White Pomegranate mixed with apples and mint. There is also a red sangria made with apples, citrus and canela and a white sangria with Bartlett pear, grapes and rosemary.
